Windsurfing Aruba - Jul 2001

Felix, Michel and I spent 8 totally awesome days in the windsurfing mecca of Aruba, a small island off the coast of Venezuela.

Out of those 8 days we sailed 7 of them until our hands and feet bled, and unbelievably we didn't get a single action shot!

We sailed with Vela windsurfing and they were excellent, not only with equipment but also instruction. Highly recommended.

Aruba Windsurfing and even a little carpark for sailboards!

World famous Fisherman's Huts of Aruba. Flatwater windsurfing at its best. Every day we had 20 knots.

Beginners boards on the Marriot beach. A lot of people stay here while windsurfing. I really think the boardwalk is far better.

There are plenty of Iguanas in Aruba.

This was our daily beach spot where we rested our weary limbs between sessions on the water

All that windsurfing and no action shots.

Our apartment at the boardwalk could not have been better and I would highly recommend the place to anybody windsurfing at Fisherman's Huts.

Michel is wondering what a worm that has a cast this big eats. Belgians?

Tough looking surf dudes at California lighthouse.

Aruba is very beautiful island with excellent windsurfing especially for intermediate sailors like myself.

Natural Bridge on the windward side of Aruba.
