  Chihuahua, Mexico - Jan 2004

Tourism is developing in the Northern States of Mexico, but for the moment the state of Chihuahua is pretty much unkown considering the wealth of natural beauty that can be found there.

Distances are huge and can involve a lot of driving to get around the state, but without doubt is well worth the effort.

We spent 4 days touring around in sunny but cold weather. Thanks to Aero California losing my bag on a direct flight I was a little colder still!

Top of the falls of Basaseachi, where the water falls 246 m into the canyon below. This really is the most breathtaking waterfall I have ever seen.

Cusarare waterfalls. The hike out to here is really very pleasant and varied, walking through narrow valleys and corn fields.

Cave dwelling of Tarahumara Indians. I think this was just for show as most of the locals we saw were living in log cabins. Who knows though!

Thanks to Aero California losing my bag I was very cold for these 4 days. They never did find it. They are bad, very bad . Fly with them at your own risk!

Liliana starts to make her second ever snowman. Apparently there is not too much snow in Uruguay.

Barranca del Cobre (Copper Canyon) is a lot bigger than the Grand canyon and still contains a lot of unexplored land known only to the local indiginous people that still live there. Amazing to think that there are such places.
