Tepoztlan, Mexico - January 2003

Tepoztlan (place of copper), the legendary birthplace more than 1200 years ago of Quetzalcoatl, the serpent god of the Aztecs, is about an hour and a half south of Mexico City.

Ominous cliffs hang over the town and on the top is the piramide de Tepozteco.

Very impressive!

Almost there.

Fernando climbing the last steps

Pretty rough terrain for the intrepid hikers.

Mexican Tree with split personality.

Hector was very popular with the local 'bandidos'. I'm not exactly sure what kind of animals they are, but there are certainly plenty of them

On top of the pyramid it is important to lie down and absorb energy. After all you still need to get down.
