Troy Springs - Florida - Nov 2003
Day 2 of our impromptu Springs trip and a new location. There's is no backmount cave diving at Troy Springs, though it is still a first magnitude spring. That means there are millions and millions of gallons of crystal clear water pouring out of it into the Suwannee river.
Very nice site and one that I would have normally missed due to Cave fever.

.... actually thats not silt. Its the tannic water of the Suwannee River where it meets the crystal clear spring water
2 minute video of the dive(3.8 Mb). This is mixed footage from William and myself so I actually get to make a short appearence!
This stunning picture was taken by Wes Skiles. (Click picture to link) and clearly shows the remains of the scuttled civil war steamboat, 'Madison' and the Troy Springs sinkhole.During our visit we had a lot more water!

One of many turtles that inhabit Troy Springs.
Liliana really needs to work harder on her silt avoidance technique....
Self portrait showing the turbid waters of the Suwannee river behind me.
All that remains of the wreck of the Madison.
