New Year In England , Jan 04

To end a fantastic month out of the office I made a trip home, this time specifically to see my future Godson Louie.

It had only been a few months since Ihad last seen Lauren but it was still incredible to see that change.

As always fish and chips were on the menu and a visit to Whitby to buy kippers.

Niece and Nephew

Whitby beach where it is is still illegal to expose more than ankle flesh on the beach. Why anybody would want to expose more is beyond me.

Lauren proving her expertise at sandcastle building.

Whitby is one of my favourite places in the world. I have wonderful boyhood memories of days fishing for billet and learning to smoke here.

Whitby Cod and Chips! The real thing and without doubt the food I miss more than any other while away from home.

Lauren likes to be a little different!!

Louie didn't do too much back in January being only six weeks old, but I can't wait to see him again in September to see how he's getting on.

Julie, Simon and the family taking in the fine sea air.

Whitby Kippers. The best in the world (actually I prefer Loch Fyne, but that's a secret).

The smoke house at the back is as black as black can be, having never been cleaned in more than 200 years. That's what it takes to make a good kipper.
