Valle De Bravo, Mexico - June 2003

Valle de Bravo is a small town about 2 hours South West of Mexico city. Situated on the side of a reservoir, the town now serves as a weekend retreat from the intensity and madness of the city.

... and very nice the place is too. Easy going and exactly what it is was meant to be . Relaxed.

Though it would be unfair to say the area is sleepy as it offers a lot of acivities from parachuting and water skiing to horse riding. We made some enquires about Scuba Diving in the lake to see the remains of the old town that was flooded when the reservoir was created. Unfortunately we were informed that nothing remained other than rubble and some walls.

Relaxing with friends is what Valle de Bravo is all about

Peace in the garden where we experimented eating wild Manzana chiles. Ouch!

Cozy fireside

Juan considers some rock climbing

There are many beautiful waterfalls and woodlands around the Valle de Bravo area.

Evening drinks by the lakeside, and a visit from the ghost of Valle de Bravo. Apparently it is not uncommon for this ghost to show up as he very much likes to be photographed.

Local girls by the riverside.

Woodland flowers, after a rainfall.

After being caught out in the rain. This was a perfectly relaxing weekend. Thanks Marisa and Daniel for all your hospitality.
