What Was New in 2005

I always ( well amost always !) make a note here when I add something new to the site, though for frequently updated pages such as 'The Scuba FAQ', 'News About Karin' and 'Puerto Aventuras News', it's better to bookmark those pages directly. It's a good place to start looking around. The dates here are the dates the pages were built and released, and are usually completely unrelated to the actual dates that the pictures were taken on.

November 20th 2005

Today, November 20th is the Day of the Mexican Revolution. Kids all over Mexico celebrate this day. Here are some pictures of the parade that was done by the kids at the Poblado the Puerto Aventuras.

November 17th 2005

Puerto Aventuras is not only a good place for adults. It also suits perfectly well babies and toddlers. See some of the interesting experiences that our Karin faced here.

November 9th 2005

Unknown to me until this week, Puerto Aventuras has its very own Mayan ruin. Here are some pictures of the ruin and the caleta that it is built next to.

November 5th 2005

After all that has happened in Puerto Aventuras, a lot of people are asking about the diving and so I put this page together to hopefully settle their minds.

October 29th 2005

Liliana , Karin and I along with my sisters family and neighbors Kurt and Alma spent what seemed an endless 36 hours boarded up inside our apartment in Puerto Aventuras while the world's largest hurricane raged outside. These are the pictures and some thoughts about the experience during and after the storm.

October 13th 2005

I've been meaning to start this for a while, and so here it is! The scuba FAQ will never be finished but will be updated frequently.

August 30th 2005

As Christmas approaches, it's time to get the web site into a festive mood (and ready for festive advertising!) and so I have added a page about Christmas traditions and customs in my home country of England.

July 27th 2005

While rebuilding the site, I noticed that 2005 was lacking a bit and so here are some pictures from a business trip to Guatemala where i was fortunate enough to be able to visit the famous colonial town of Antigua during the Semana Santa (Holy Week) celebrations.

July 24th 2005

Juan provided some new pictures showing how Puerto Aventuras is recovering from the effects of Hurricane Emily

July 20th 2005

We received some pictures of the damage caused by Hurricane Emily at Puerto Aventuras, and decided to share them with others with an interest in this area of Mexico.

July 17th 2005

While I would love to be able to write regular news articles, time just does not allow it and so we have RSS news feeds...

July 2005

As Liliana's Baby shower page in Spanish seems to have caught the attention of Latin America with a lot of new traffic, we decided to expand and to provide the information that was actually being searched for.

These 3 new pages are helping to pay the hosting costs with clicks on the ads that you now see on all the new pages. Sorry about that, but running a web site is not only time consuming but can be a little expensive too and every little bit helps.

The Baby shower pages have actually been a lot of fun to put together, especially filling in the visual gaps with some homebrew graphics and still life photography.

June 18th 2005

It took three weeks before Karin was able to be held outside of the incubator. This page contains a few pictures from the first week that we could hold her.

May 25th 2005

With Karin's unexpected early arrival, I needed to do a fast work to get the first pictures out for demanding Grandparents.

April 30th 2005

This was Liliana's first web page and at the time of writing ( July 2005), it usually receives about 100 visitors a day!

Apr 21 2005

A return visit to Chihuahua and a visit to the ancient settlement of Paquime with its incredible 'mud maze' appearance.

After this we traveled to see the incredible Cave houses of Cuarenta Casas, precariously perched on the cliffs.

March 10th 2005

Some Photos from Liliana's an my marriage in a Registro Civil in Mexico City! Thanks to Erik Rijnders for volunteering to be the photographer.

Feb 24th 2005

Last weekend I had the opportunity to go 400m below the surface of the Earth and experience a Mexican Silver Mine at Real Del Monte. An incredible experience.
